Sample School-Based Projects

The projects below illustrate several ways WEG partners with schools to examine specific programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities. These are examples—not fixed offerings—and each engagement is collaboratively designed, with scope and depth tailored to a school’s goals, context, and available resources.

Evaluating Student Alignment with the Portrait of a Graduate

A mixed-methods study that helps a school move beyond aspirational language to credible evidence of whether students are developing the competencies in its Portrait of a Graduate. We work with school leaders and educators to define observable indicators, gather student/teacher evidence (surveys, interviews, artifacts, and targeted observations), and translate findings into practical steps for teaching, advising, and program design.

Developing a School’s Research-Based Approach to Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning

A structured research and planning engagement to help a school clarify its decision-making on artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. The work includes a synthesis of relevant research, high-quality resources, and facilitated decision-making to develop shared principles, practical guidance, and a coherent implementation framework aligned to the school’s mission.

Exploring the Role and Outcomes of Community Partnerships

A comprehensive evaluation of a school’s community partnerships to clarify what’s working, what’s misaligned, and where relationships are generating real value for students and the broader community. Using input from school leaders, faculty, students, and partner organizations, we map partnership goals and outcomes and deliver a clear strategy for strengthening, prioritizing, and sustaining high-impact collaborations.

Understanding Student Wellness

A comprehensive, collaborative study designed to help a school identify its core markers of student wellness and examine the degree to which students are embodying those markers across the school experience. Through engagement with leaders, counselors, psychologists, faculty, students, and families—and integrating surveys, interviews, and observational data—the study assesses both perceptions and outcomes to inform a coherent, evidence-informed approach to student well-being.

Exploring the Quality and Outcomes of a School’s Authentic Learning Experiences

A mixed-methods study examining how authentic learning experiences are designed, implemented, and experienced across a school. By integrating classroom observations, student and teacher perspectives, and evidence of student work, the study assesses both the consistency of these experiences and their perceived impact on student growth.
