Wasatch Education Group (WEG) is a senior-led education research and evaluation consultancy. Our team is composed of independent consultants who support leaders in education organizations—including schools, institutions of higher ed, nonprofits, foundations, and associations—in making high-stakes decisions with clarity and confidence. We help organizations understand their impact at the organization-, division-, or program-levels so leaders can see what is working, for whom, and how to strengthen programs and systems to better serve students.
The firm was founded in response to a persistent challenge in the field: education leaders engage with significant amounts of data, yet available data and research do not always answer the most pressing, context-specific questions leaders face when making decisions about programs, strategy, and improvement. As a result, leaders often struggle not only to make informed internal decisions but also to clearly communicate the impact and value of their work to boards, families, funders, and other stakeholders.
WEG is intentionally small and senior-led. We partner as a coordinated team of independent consultants, bringing complementary strengths across research, evaluation, and professional learning. Project teams are intentionally structured based on the needs of each engagement, ensuring the right expertise is applied at the right depth. Our work spans organization-wide questions as well as focused studies of specific programs, initiatives, or strategies. In addition, we synthesize high-quality academic research and design research-informed professional learning that supports thoughtful implementation and continuous improvement.
This integrated approach allows organizations not only to access credible evidence but also to engage with it, make meaning collectively, and apply findings within their specific context.
Research Designed for Your Context
WEG does not offer standardized products, subscriptions, or one-size-fits-all surveys. Our work is developed in close collaboration with each school or organization to reflect its questions, priorities, and the intangibles that make your community unique. We tailor research design, professional learning, and implementation support to your needs and the decisions you’re facing.
Across all of our work, WEG is focused on supporting thoughtful decision-making, strong implementation, and responsible use of evidence over time.
Our work is carried out by a small, senior team of researchers and practitioners with experience across teaching, school leadership, and applied research. Learn more about our team.
