Michael Brinn, M.A., is a learning strategist, instructional designer, and product leader with 15 years of experience developing evidence-based learning solutions across K–12, higher education, workforce development, and global nonprofit sectors. With expertise spanning digital learning design, instructional systems, and AI-enabled professional learning, he helps organizations translate complex ideas into clear, actionable learning experiences that drive performance, equity, and real-world impact.

As a learning designer and product consultant, Michael provides strategic support across all phases of learning product development. He leads needs assessments; translates research into curriculum; designs competency-based courses and microlearning; and advises on learning science, facilitation, and user-centered design. His recent work includes creating professional learning experiences that help teams thoughtfully adopt and apply artificial intelligence in their workflows, designing interactive videos and practice-based tools, developing cross-functional product workflows, and supporting organizations in aligning learning outcomes to measurable performance goals.

Michael previously served as a Program Officer for Instructional Design at the International Rescue Committee’s Switchboard project, where he created large-scale learning programs supporting service providers working with refugees, immigrants, and other underserved communities. Prior to IRC, he held roles as Dean of Instruction, Culture and Equity Coach, instructional coach, and classroom teacher in Denver Public Schools, experiences that grounded his commitment to culturally responsive design, learner agency, and practical skill development. He has also led projects in content strategy, DEI capacity-building, and community-based professional development.

Michael holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Comparative Literature from Rutgers University. He has completed additional training in instructional design, project management, and artificial intelligence for learning design.
